5 Fantastic Ways To Wear Red Eyeshadow

How To Use Red Eyeshadow

Red eye make-up was one of the more surprising trends to hit the catwalks last year and is not for the faint of heart.   Yet although it is certainly an edgier seasonal choice, it needn’t be a scary one.  Follow a few simple rules to create a fantastic bold and flattering look for autumn.

1) Take time to get the details right – the result should look well crafted and  intentional. Red isn’t a colour to be slap dash with unless you want to make it look like you have a rash!

2) Don’t skip the base – Red eyes will emphasise other areas of redness on your face, so think about using colour correcting primers and concealers to create a flawless canvas for your eye art. On a similar note, go easy on the blush.

3) Think about the tone of the red you plan on using – if you normally suit cool colours then choose a red with blue undertones. If your complexion suits warmer shades, select a red from the orange shade of the spectrum.

Still unsure? Then check out these five fantastic examples of red eye shadow, created and worn by real women. As these bloggers show red eye make up can be bold, vampy or more low key and it can suit every skin colour.
